FIRE PROTECTION TECHNICIAN

Fire extinguishers (all types):

• Inspect and test
• Install or replace (if expired, discharged, or defective)

Fire blankets:

• Inspect (or replace if defective)

Fire hose reels:

• Inspect and test

Fire doors and smoke doors (hinged and pivoted):

• Inspect and test

Sliding fire doors (passive and detection qualified):

• Inspect and test

Fire hydrant systems:

• Inspect and test (six-monthly only)

QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN ONLY

Smoke alarms (hardwired interconnected photoelectric):

• Inspect and test (Building class 1 & 2)
• Install or replace (if defective)

Heat alarms and CO alarms:

• Inspect and test (Building class 1 & 2)
• Install or replace (if defective)

Emergency and EXIT lighting:

• Inspect and test
• Install or rectify (if defective)

Fire indicator panels (FIP) – detection, alarm, and warning systems (detection qualified):

• Inspect, test, and rectify faults
